HOW TO OBTAIN AN MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH/ACCIDENT REPORT

NO information regarding the crash will be released until the report has been approved and sent to the Records Division.  A minimum of 5-7 business days will be required before reports become available.

 

You may telephone AFTERseven business days to inquire if the report is ready and available.  Records Division telephone:  732-222-1000 x 1800  

 

Reports occurring on or after October 1, 2016 may now be obtained via the web by visiting the following web-site: https://policereports.lexisnexis.com/

 

You will need the following information:

State in which accident occurred:  (NJ) 

Jurisdiction:  Long Branch

First Name, Last Name, Date of Accident

 

The first time you use this site you will have to create an account. 

If the accident occurred prior to October 1, 2016 a copy may be obtained directly from the:

You must present valid ID:  A driver’s license or passport

By mail by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope.  Please include the following information: Driver/involved person name(s), date, time, location of the crash, and incident number (any missing information may delay the process).  A $5.00 check or money order.
