Administrator

The Department of Administration, the head of which is the Business Administrator, is charged with carrying out the laws enacted by the city council.  The Business Administrator is the Chief Administrative Officer of the municipality and is responsible for all day-to-day operations, directs and coordinates the actions of department heads, and serves as the chief personnel officer.

Other responsibilities include assisting the Mayor in the preparation of the budget, administering budgetary controls, administration of the city’s personnel system, and overseeing the function of the Division of Community and Economic Development.

The present administrator, Howard Woolley, has served in this position since July 1994.
