Welcome to the City of Long Branch's "Green Page", an exciting and innovative section of the City's website. This section was designed to announce our Go-Green City-Wide Initiative and to inform the community of various ways we can all get involved. This initiative is vital to ensuring the preservation of our current standard of living. Simply put, the choices and behaviors we choose today will effect future generations and have a direct impact on an evermore interconnected planet. This will take an all-hands effort. With this initiative in mind, I created the Energy Review Committee composed of representatives from many different departments - including the planning, health, public works, and police departments. This committee is working hard for the community to provide new environmentally friendly initiatives to help make the quality of life better in our city. It looks at improving efficiency in city buildings, planning new environmentally efficient structures, reusing resources, and encouraging our residents to become more environmentally friendly.

"Working For a Green Future", the City's motto, is an on going effort and takes commitments from community members too. What we do as a team to make our world better is most important to our future generations and I'm looking for input from residents as to what we can do to make things more efficient.

To help in this process, I appointed residents as members of the Long Branch Environmental Commission (LBEC) and am encouraged by the interest for Green Team Volunteers.  Anyone interested in attending a meeting or seeking to volunteer on the City's Green Team can call or write to the City's Zoning Officer at Long Branch City Hall, 344 Broadway, Long Branch, NJ 07740 or email the LBEC at \n This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
