Voluntary Recycling Drop Off Center

The Voluntary Recycling Drop Off Center is located at 378 Atlantic Ave. opposite the Pleasure Bay ball field/playground.

It's operational hours are Monday- Friday, 7:30 AM to 3PM and Saturday, 9AM to 1PM.

Residents may bring the following items to the Drop Off Center:

Commingled metal cans, bottle glass and #1 and/or#2 plastic bottles. Do not place these items in a plastic bag for disposal at the yard, since they are dumped into a container.

Mixed paper consisting of newspaper, junk mail, office paper, magazines, advertisements.

Cardboard- please flatten and tie in bundles on not more than 50 Lbs.

Electronic items, consisting of TV's, computers, computer monitors, printers, fax machine and laptops must be recycled under the NJ Electronic Waste Management Act. The City does not collect these items from the curb. They must be brought to the Recycling Drop Off location. Scanners, keyboards, mouse, radios, DVD players, VCR machines are not mandatory under the law, but are encouraged to be recycled.  For additional information, see Article on Electronic Waste Management for more details. 

Leaves and Tree branches no larger than 6 inches in diameter are accepted from residents with proper ID only; no commercial entities accepted.


  • Municipal Garage +

    Responsible for all city vehicles an equipment and performs routine maintenance and emergency road service repairs when necessary.

  • Office of The Director +

    Has the responsibility for plans, specifications and contracts for public development and improvements; oversees all divisions and subdivisions; organizes the departments and the functions of the employees.  We are committed to the environment, public safety and prompt, courteous service to our residents and visitors.

  • Parks Division +

    Maintains all city owned properties including parks, playgrounds, playground equipment and ball fields. when available this division will assist the streets division.

  • Public Facilities +

    Divided into 2 sub-divisions:  

    •    Public Works repairers are responsible for repairs of city buildings and boardwalk including construction, plumbing, painting, etc.

    •    Building Maintenance Division provides daily cleaning and maintenance of all city owned buildings.

  • Sanitation / Recycling Division +

    The Sanitation / Recycling Division of the Department of Public Works is responsible for the collection of garbage, recycling, bulk and service for dumpster rentals.
